Assemblyman Schmitt Hosts Pet Photos with Santa at District Office

STONY POINT, NY – Assemblyman Colin Schmitt hosted a free Pet Photos with Santa event at his district office. Residents from all over the district showed up with dressed up dogs to get a photo with Santa. There was even a special couple of goats wearing Christmas sweaters who got into the holiday cheer!

Assemblyman Schmitt and his staff baked homemade pumpkin and peanut butter treats for the dogs. All attendees were welcomed to cups of hot chocolate and apple cider donuts from Soon’s Orchard in Wawayanda.

During the event, supplies for animals were collected that will be donated to the Blooming Grove Animal Shelter.

Rockland County to Host Veteran Resource Fair at Palisades Center Mall

WEST NYACK, NY — Veterans and their families are invited to attend the Rockland Veteran Resource Fair this Saturday, May 17th, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at the Palisades Center Mall.

The fair will feature 17 tables of Veteran-specific resources and services, along with Veteran Advocates ready to assist the community. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with a variety of organizations, including VA Hudson Valley Health Care, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and Clear Path for Veterans.

This event is designed to support and inform the Veteran community by providing direct access to health care enrollment, mental health resources, advocacy, and additional services tailored to the needs of those who have served.

Veterans, active service members, and their families are encouraged to stop by, ask questions, and explore the wide range of support options available.
