Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski Releases Statement on Decision Not to Run for Re-Election

Published

on

New City, NY – Today, Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski (D-Rockland) released the following statement announcing his decision against seeking re-election:

“It has been a profound honor to serve as a member of the N.Y.S. Assembly for the past seventeen years. I want to thank the residents of Rockland County for the privilege of fighting for them and representing our neighborhoods during these nine terms. I am proud of my statewide legislative record and what I have delivered locally for Rockland County, but I certainly did not do it alone. I would not be here without the family, friends and volunteers that helped me deliver a positive and substantive message and the voters who put their faith in me. I’m also thankful to my colleagues, staff and public policy partners for their friendship and collaboration on so many issues. While it is time for a new chapter in my career, I intend to stay active locally and in New York State. Serving in State Government is an amazing responsibility and every day I strived to execute the job with the seriousness and professionalism it deserves.”

Assemblyman Zebrowski was first elected in a special election on May 1, 2007, and was re-elected in 2022 to his 9th term. He chairs the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions. The 96th Assembly District includes the entire Towns of Clarkstown and Haverstraw and a portion of the Town of Orangetown.
