Clarkstown PD Detective Bureau Investigating Two Incidents Involving Attempted Theft Of Luxury Vehicles

The Clarkstown Police Department Detective Bureau is currently investigating two incidents involving attempted theft of luxury vehicles in the New City area, specifically on Preakness Ln. and Gable Rd. We urge the public to review any camera footage they may have between the hours of 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM and to contact the Clarkstown Police Department at (845) 639-5800 if they observe anything suspicious.

The Clarkstown Police Department reminds homeowners to take an extra minute to remove valuables from their vehicles, take keys or fobs out of vehicles, and lock the vehicle doors. These measures will help reduce these crimes. If you witness something suspicious, please call 911, or you can also send an anonymous tip to the police using TIP411. Haverstraw Man Arrested In Connection With Firehouse Burglary

The Haverstraw Police Department announces the arrest of David Morgenstern (38) of Haverstraw, NY in connection with a burglary from a Firehouse in Haverstraw. The defendant was charged with burglary 3rd degree (Class D Felony), criminal possession of stolen property (Class A Misdemeanor) and petit larceny (Class A Misdemeanor). The stolen proceeds have been recovered. The defendant was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Village of Haverstraw Justice Court. It should be noted that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The Haverstraw Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that occurred on Wayne Street in the Village of Haverstraw during the early morning hours on Sunday, October 6, 2024. One victim was treated for non life-threatening injuries. Anyone who has any information on this incident is asked to call the Haverstraw Police Department Detective Bureau at 845-942-3730.
