ALBANY, NY – Governor Cuomo announces New York gyms can reopen on August 24 with strict requirements.

Gyms and fitness will start at 33 percent capacity and masks are mandatory.

“There are health requirements that are in the guidelines to the ventilation requirements,” Cuomo said.

The governor said “localities” have a role in the reopening of gyms, and local health departments must inspect the establishments before or within two weeks of reopening. Local governments can determine whether or not the gyms can have classes inside it.
