NEW CITY: Joseph Lewin, 68, who now resides in Port Chester, a former gymnastics coach with gyms (Joe’s Gym) in Ramapo has plead guilty to one felony count of second-degree course of sexual conduct for sexually abusing multiple young girls.

During the trial 8 girls, all under the age of 16 during the assaults, testified against Lewin. Sources tell us, that it is alleged that he abused upwards of 30 girls.

According to Steve Lieberman of LOHUD, The judge and prosecutor Jennifer Parietti of the Special Victims Unit said the families agreed to the four-year sentence to spare their daughters from testifying at trial and reliving their pain and a cross-examination by Lewin’s attorneys..
Lewin’s guilty plea covered the eight-count grand jury indictment accusing him of illegal sexual contact with at least seven girls under age 13 who were students at his gyms in Suffern and Hillburn between 2007 and 2014. The facilities have since closed.

Joseph Lewin was sentenced to four-years in state prison, and will be eligible for release with good behavior in two and half years. He will be on two years supervision after his release and will be placed on the state sex abuse registry.
