Rickey McGill (Spring Valley HS) Leads the Iona Gaels to 4 Straight MAAC Basketball Championships

Senior Rickey McGill (Spring Valley HS) leads the Iona Gaels Men’s Basketball team to become the the first program in MAAC basketball history to win four consecutive tournament championships.

Iona defeated Monmouth 81 – 60 at the Times Union Center in Albany. McGill, the only Senior on the team, scored 10 points and pulled down four rebounds with three assists. He would be named the MAAC tournament MVP.

Rickey McGill finishes his career as the only student-athlete in MAAC history to win four 🏆🏆🏆🏆MAAC rings, with a perfect 12-0 record.

The Iona Gaels will enter the NCAA Tournament riding a 10-game winning streak.

New York Liberty To Celebrate First WNBA Championship With Parade in New York City This Thursday, Oct. 24th

This Thursday, Oct. 24, the New York Liberty will celebrate its first WNBA Championship in franchise history with a ticker tape parade through New York City. The parade will tip off at 10 a.m. from Battery Park and proceed north along Broadway to City Hall, through what is known as the “Canyon of Heroes.”  Following the parade, there will be a ceremony at City Hall honoring the New York Liberty at noon.
