NYS Police Are Investigating A Fatal Crash Involving A Pedestrian On I 87 In West Nyack State Police Are Asking For Your Help

On October 29, 2024, at approximately 9:55 p.m. the New York State Police Thruway responded to a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Interstate 87 southbound between exits 12 and 13 in West Nyack.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Saul Clark, age 55 from Paterson, New Jersey was involved in a minor collision with another vehicle. He stepped out of the vehicle to look at the damage and was struck by a 2018 Ford SUV operated by Jasmin McCoy, age 30 of Nyack. Mr. Clark was declared deceased at the scene. This investigation is ongoing.

An informational session is scheduled for Wednesday, April 9, at 6 PM. This meeting is open to current and former law enforcement personnel who are considering joining the band.

Woman Rescued After Falling 20 Feet on Torne Valley Hiking Trail in Rockland County

A woman is recovering after falling 20 feet from the Torn Valley hiking trail in Rockland County on Friday evening. The Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps responded around 6 p.m., with police and fire crews joining them. They found the 40-year-old woman suffering from a compound fracture and severe pain. Paramedics administered an IV and gave her fentanyl for pain relief before helping her up. She was then placed on a gurney, carried out of the woods in stable condition, and transported to Hackensack Hospital for further treatment. The Torne Trail runs through Bear Mountain and Harriman State Parks.
