NYC PBA Endorse Mike Lawler for Assembly

PEARL RIVER, NY – The New York City PBA announces they will be endorsing Mike Lawler in his race for the 97th Assembly District.

Lawler is running on a platform of repealing cashless bail, promoting public safety, and securing additional funding for law enforcement, spoke about the importance of the NYC PBA’s endorsement in this close Assembly race.

“It’s an honor to have the backing of the NYC PBA,” said Lawler. “Their members have helped protect our great state and New York City and their sacrifices ensure our families are able to sleep safely at night. I couldn’t be prouder to have the support of the NYC PBA and their thousands of active and retired members living in Rockland County.”

The Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York (NYC PBA) is the largest municipal police union in the world. The NYC PBA represents the approximately 24,000 sworn NYPD members who hold the rank of Police Officer and wear a silver shield like the one above — the front-line police officers in radio cars and on foot posts in your neighborhood, as well as those in specialized units and administrative divisions throughout the city.

“Mike Lawler has a proven history of supporting law enforcement and is the only candidate in this race who will work with us to stand up for and protect law enforcement officers and their families,” said Pat Lynch, President of the NYC PBA. “While his opponent was busy pushing for cashless bail and other policies that made our state less safe, Mike has worked with his local PBA to support their efforts and has been in touch with our offices asking us what he could do to support the brave men and women in law enforcement.”

“Ellen Jaffee is completely out-of-touch with reality and her continued support of the radical policies pushed by far-left NYC politicians shows it,” stated Lynch. “Mike will never turn his back on cops the way Jaffee did, and we can rely on him to be a vocal supporter of the law enforcement community in Albany.”

“It will be an honor to have Mike representing our members in the Assembly, and we look forward to working with him towards our shared goal of ensuring equality and justice for all New Yorkers and promoting a stronger, safer New York.”
