RPD officers scored a win today at Ramapo High School! They responded to a call about an owl caught in the soccer net. With some quick work, they carefully cut the net, and the owl was able to fly away safely and unharmed. HOO-ray for a happy ending!

Haverstraw Police Department Responds to Incident Involving Oil Delivery Truck in Pomona

On October 31, 2024, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Haverstraw Police Department Dispatch received a report of a male individual pinned beneath an oil delivery truck in the area of 88 Buckingham Court, Pomona. The male, identified as the operator of the truck, was found conscious but had sustained multiple injuries.
Upon arrival, Haverstraw Police Department officers located the driver pinned under the vehicle. Units from the Fire Department and EMS promptly arrived on the scene and were able to extricate the driver. He was subsequently transported by Haverstraw Ambulance to Westchester Medical Center for further treatment.
Initial investigation revealed that the operator had just completed an oil delivery. While securing the oil hose at the rear of the truck, which was parked on a hill, the vehicle began to roll backward. Tragically, the truck rolled over the driver and down an embankment. The circumstances leading to the truck’s movement remain under investigation, and the Department of Transportation will conduct an inspection of the vehicle to determine the cause.

NYS Police Are Investigating A Fatal Crash Involving A Pedestrian On I 87 In West Nyack State Police Are Asking For Your Help

On October 29, 2024, at approximately 9:55 p.m. the New York State Police Thruway responded to a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Interstate 87 southbound between exits 12 and 13 in West Nyack.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Saul Clark, age 55 from Paterson, New Jersey was involved in a minor collision with another vehicle. He stepped out of the vehicle to look at the damage and was struck by a 2018 Ford SUV operated by Jasmin McCoy, age 30 of Nyack. Mr. Clark was declared deceased at the scene. This investigation is ongoing.
