On Saturday, February 15th at about 8:30 PM the Spring Valley Police Department received a call for service to check on the welfare of a subject at 4 Gesner Dr. When officers arrived, they discovered two female victims inside the apartment, both with significant head injuries. One was pronounced deceased at the scene and the other was transported to Westchester Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. Sunday evening, less than 24 hours later, nineteen-year-old, Alan Aba (also known as Alena Aba) of Westwood, New Jersey, was arrested, charged and arraigned on one count of Murder in the first degree (Penal Law 125.27) before the Honorable Judge Sweet and remanded to RCJ. The investigation revealed that this was an isolated incident with the parties known to each other and there is no continuing threat to the public. There were no firearms involved, despite earlier posts and reports.
