Rockland County Legislature Announces The Recipients Of Tourism Grants

The Rockland County Legislature congratulates the recipients of this year’s Rockland County Tourism Grants! Tourism plays an important role in Rockland’s overall economy, encouraging residents and visitors from outside our county to enjoy our restaurants, museums and arts offerings, while contributing to our economic base in the process. This year, a total of $316,000 will go to 30 organizations dedicated to promoting Rockland County as a premier destination. All awardees must meet certain criteria and then show they met the goals they set.
Here are the recipients:
Rockland Rowing: $8,000
Visit Nyack: $30,000
United Latin Festival: $8,000
Friends of Orangetown: $5,000
Haverstraw Brick Museum: $8,000
Suffern Chamber: $10,000
The Angel Nyack: $9,000
Rockland Fashion Week: $4,000
Rockland Music Festival: $10,000
Garner Industrial: $20,000
Round Table Brewery: $10,000
Rockland Pride Center: $5,000
India Cultural Arts Society: $6,000
Phoenix Theatre Ensemble: $8,000
Penguin Players: $15,250
Rockland Center for the Arts: $12,500
RCC Hospitality & Culinary Arts: $12,000
ArtsRock: $11,000
BRIDGEMUSIK: $2,000
Chiku Awali: $5,000
Gran Fondo: $8,000
Hopper House: $15,000
NY Boulders: $15,000
Holocaust Museum: $15,000
Rockland Historical Society: $5,000
Haverstraw River Arts: $8,000
Haverstraw African American Connection: $15,000
Emotions Theatre: $5,000
Nanuet Chamber: $12,000
Friends of Harmony Hall: $20,000
County Executive Ed Day and Director of Economic Development and Tourism Jenna Nazario announced the grants during a special gathering.

New Scenic Trail Underway to Connect Demarest Kill Park and Dutch Garden

Construction has begun on a new and improved walking path that will connect the rear of Demarest Kill Park to Dutch Garden. Stretching nearly half a mile, the trail will guide visitors below the dam, through wooded areas, and alongside the picturesque Demarest Kill brook.

Scheduled for completion by the end of summer (weather permitting), the trail will feature benches, newly planted deciduous and evergreen trees, a variety of shrubs, and vibrant wildflowers.

Even more exciting enhancements are on the way for your County parks!
