SPRING VALLEY, NY – Around 9:30 pm on Saturday August 24, the South Spring Valley Fire Department responded to the area of 131 Heitman Drive (Spring Valley) for a reported structure fire. 44- Control received several 9-1-1 calls. Mutual aid was by provided by departments from as far as West Nyack and Suffern.

In the video above, 3 cats are rescued by firefighters from the burning building. The video picks up as the final cat is re-united with its owner. The cat is administered oxygen by a member of the Spring Hill ems.

Due to the great work by the Spring Valley Pd & South FD, In-conjunction with multiple other FD and EMS, there were no injuries to any residents and all 3 cats 🐈 went home with their owners!

An Alligator Was Rescued From The Minisceongo Creek

Today at approximately 11:10am, Haverstraw Police responded to the Minisceongo Creek in the area of Bridge Street in Garnerville for a report of an alligator in the creek.
Haverstraw Police Department personnel assisted in successfully removing the alligator from the water. The Hudson Valley Humane Society of Pomona responded to the scene to take possession and care of the alligator.

UPDATE: Rockland County Firefighters Headed To Orange County To Assist In Greenwood Lake Wildfire

Rockland County fire departments deployed units to Greenwood Lake in Orange County last night to help protect structures threatened by the brush fire. Hillcrest, Blauvelt, Pearl River, New City, West Haverstraw, Central Nyack, Nanuet, Piermont, and Suffern responded.
