Suffern Boys Swimming and Diving Relay Team Breaks Record Leale Defends State Title

Big news coming out of Suffern boys swimming and diving: Boys 400 free relay team of James Hyman, Aiden Ramirez, Ben Courtney and Avery Vinas broke the school record and advanced to the finals and Ben Courtney also advanced to the finals in the 100 butterfly.
On the diving front: Luke Leale won the state championships for the second year in a row, beating out 30 divers for the top spot!

The performance not only highlighted the school’s strong performing arts program but also brought pride to the Albertus Magnus community and all of Rockland County.

Spring Valley HS Taniyah Joseph Breaks Rockland County Record in 100m at Championship Meet, Ranks Among Top Sprinters in New York State

SPRING VALLEY, NY — In a performance for the history books, Taniyah Joseph of Spring Valley High School shattered the Rockland County 100m record at the Rockland County Championship Track Meet, clocking in at a blazing 11.83 seconds — the fastest 100m time in county history.

Joseph didn’t stop there. She also claimed the 200m County Championship title, finishing with a season-best time of 24.98 seconds, solidifying her status as one of New York’s top high school sprinters.

With these achievements, Taniyah Joseph is now:

Ranked #4 in New York State for the 100m

Ranked #10 in the State for the 200m

Her remarkable season continues to turn heads as she prepares for the Sectionals, State Qualifiers, and State Championships, culminating in a national appearance at the New Balance Nationals.

Joseph, who is committed to Norfolk State University, is widely considered to be having one of the greatest track seasons in Spring Valley High School history. Special recognition goes to Coach Andrew Delva Sr. and the dedicated team of Spring Valley assistant coaches for their guidance and support.
