Albany – Grace VanderWaal was awarded the NYS Senate Women of Distinction Honor. She was nominated by State Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Westchester). Gracie is an award-winning singer from Suffern, New York.

Grace VanderWaal skyrocketed to stardom after she won NBC’s America’s Got Talent in 2016 at just 12-years-old. She helped fund and form ‘The Little Miracles Show Choir’ in the East Ramapo Central School District. The show choir encourages young students to learn how to play instruments, dance and sing

The New York State Senate Women of Distinction honor recognizes outstanding women living and working in New York State whose contributions have greatly enriched the quality of life in their communities and beyond.
