UPDATE: Fatal House Fire In Nanuet, Victim Identified
NANUET, NY – On Wednesday March 11, 2020 around 6:00 AM the Clarkstown Police Department responded to 27 Amarillo Dr in Nanuet for a report of a house fire.
Upon arrival, the responding units observed the front part of the house engulfed in smoke and flames. Officers were unable to gain entry to search the home. An adult male was removed from the home by fire personnel and pronounced deceased by medical personnel. Nanuet FD was on scene and extinguished the flames. The fatal fire scene is being investigated by the Clarkstown Detective Bureau.
The Clarkstown Police Department has identified the victim of the fatal house fire that occurred this morning on Amarillo Dr in Nanuet. Michael Mantell, 75, of 27 Amarillo Dr. in Nanuet, NY died as a result of his injuries sustained in a fire that engulfed parts of his home.
