End of an Era: Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski announces he will not be seeking re-Election in interview with Lohud.

Kenneth Paul Zebrowski, is a lifelong Rockland resident and a Member of the New York State Assembly representing the 96th District in Rockland County. He was first elected in a special election on May 1, 2007, and was re-elected in 2022 to his 9th term. The Zebrowski family have been involved in Rockland County politics for decades with Ken Zebrwoski Sr. serving over 20 years in the Rockland Legislature and getting elected to the State Assembly in 2004 for a two-year term (2005–2007).

Ken lives in the Town of Clarkstown with his wife, Clare, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, daughter Reagan, son Kenneth Patrick, and daughter Norah. He graduated from Clarkstown Schools before receiving his Bachelor of Arts, Magna cum Laude, in Political Science from the State University of New York at Albany and his Juris Doctor degree from the Seton Hall University School of Law. He previously served in the Rockland County Legislature.

“It has been a profound honor to serve as a member of the N.Y.S. Assembly for the past seventeen years. I want to thank the residents of Rockland County for the privilege of fighting for them and representing our neighborhoods during these nine terms. I am proud of my statewide legislative record and what I have delivered locally for Rockland County, but I certainly did not do it alone. I would not be here without the family, friends and volunteers that helped me deliver a positive and substantive message and the voters who put their faith in me. I’m also thankful to my colleagues, staff and public policy partners for their friendship and collaboration on so many issues. While it is time for a new chapter in my career, I intend to stay active locally and in New York State. Serving in State Government is an amazing responsibility and every day I strived to execute the job with the seriousness and professionalism it deserves.” said Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski.

Ken has served as chair for several committees in the Assembly, including Banks and Governmental Operations, and currently chairs the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions. He also serves as Chair of the Task Force on Demographic Research and Reapportionment, which oversees the reapportionment process for Senate, Assembly and Congressional districts.

Rockland Repair Café Residents Can Bring Broken Items To Be Fixed For Free

Published

on

This event brings together skilled volunteer Repair Coaches and residents seeking to repair household items. Participants are invited to bring items such as lamps, clothing, small appliances, wooden items, small furniture, toys, and electronics for evaluation and repair.

Items powered by gas engines (e.g., lawn mowers, chainsaws, and other gas-powered landscaping equipment) are not eligible for repair. Additionally, computers and digital devices will not be repaired at this event.

Repair Coaches will evaluate and fix items for free, provided the necessary materials are on hand. These talented volunteers are eager to share their expertise, preserving the art of repair while fostering community connections.

“The ability to fix and repair items is becoming a lost art,” said County Executive Ed Day. “The Repair Café not only celebrates this essential skill but also encourages its transfer to the younger generation, ensuring these talents continue to thrive in Rockland County. Events like this reduce landfill waste, foster sustainability, and strengthen our community ties.”

The Rockland Repair Café is a free, youth-friendly event made possible through the support of Rockland Conservation & Service Corps, a program of the Rockland County Youth Bureau, along with Rockland Green, Pearl River United Methodist Church, and the Pearl River Library. Volunteer Repair Coaches from Woodcraft & Willow and IBEW LU 363 will also participate.

For more information, or to confirm if a Repair Coach can fix your item, please call Kathy Galione at (845) 364-2932, or email [email protected].
