SUFFERN, NY – Village of Suffern Mayor Curley releases a statement regarding 25 Old Mill Road.

“For anyone who is receiving misinformation in reference to 25 Old Mill Road (formally the Novartis site), for well over a year, I have been firm in my position that the Village of Suffern will not be participating in a Payment in Lieu of Taxes (“PILOT”) program. I have not and will not change my position on this piece of property. The Rockland County IDA has individual powers, separate and apart, from the Village of Suffern (including mortgage taxes, sales taxes, and other issues). Where I hold our taxing authority is in reference to our Village taxes, which I will not waive. I will point out that the Village.” Mayor of Suffern Curley.

Every year, Department of Social Services Commissioner (DSS) Joan Silvestri hosts a “Pinwheels for Prevention” event to raise awareness for child abuse prevention. The pinwheel garden represents what we want for every child – a happy, safe, and carefree childhood.
District Attorney Tom Walsh thanks the employees from the Department of Social Services, Center for Safety & Change, and other agencies who do the hard but important work on behalf of children.
