Nyack, N.Y. — November 2, 2025 — A man and a woman were found dead Saturday afternoon in a Nyack home in what police are investigating as an apparent murder–suicide, according to the Orangetown Police Department.
At approximately 4:34 p.m. on November 1, police responded to a residence at 290 North Midland Avenue after a family member reported a possible past domestic incident.
When officers were unable to make contact with anyone inside, the Rockland County REACT Team (SWAT) was called to assist. Upon entering the home, officers discovered the bodies of a 52-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman, both dead from gunshot wounds, police said.
A shotgun, believed to be the weapon used in the incident, was recovered at the scene.
According to Orangetown Police, there were no previous reports of domestic incidents at that address. The case remains under investigation by the department’s Detective Bureau, and authorities have not yet released the victims’ names pending notification of family.
