Excitement is building in Rockland County as the Suffern High School varsity hockey team travels to Buffalo to compete in the NYSPHSAA State Championships.
Before departing, the team received a spirited send-off from the Town of Ramapo Police Department, who gathered to wish the players good luck as they begin their championship journey. The supportive gesture highlighted the strong sense of community pride surrounding the program and its continued success on the ice.
Suffern enters the tournament with an impressive goal: capturing its third consecutive state championship. If the team succeeds, it would mark their fourth state title in the past five years, further cementing Suffern’s reputation as one of New York’s premier high school hockey programs.
The Mounties have built a powerhouse program through disciplined play, strong coaching, and a deep roster of talented players. Their recent dominance has made them a team to watch each postseason, and fans throughout Rockland County will be closely following their progress in Buffalo.
As the team heads north for the state tournament, the entire Suffern community is rallying behind them. With momentum, experience, and championship pedigree, the Mounties are hoping to bring another state title back home to Rockland.
For now, the message from the community is simple: good luck and bring home another championship.
