Ramapo PD Investigating Shooting in Hillcrest this Morning, Victim Seriously Injured

HILLCREST, NY – The Ramapo police department are currently investigating a shooting in Hillcrest. At approximately 8:56 am, today’s date, the Ramapo Police responded to a reported shooting that occurred on Inwood Dr., in the Hillcrest section of the Town of Ramapo. One person was removed from the scene by ambulance and was transported to the hospital. Ramapo Police are currently investigating this incident and there is nothing further being released at this time.

Ramapo Police Officers Arrest 19 Individuals Over The Weekend From DUI to Domestic Violence

This past weekend, your Ramapo officers were hard at work, making 19 arrests throughout the Town. The breakdown includes:
• 10 arrests for suspended licenses or registrations
• 2 arrests on warrants
• 2 arrests for drunk driving, including one with a child in the car
• 1 arrest for open container
• 1 arrest for a forged inspection sticker
• 2 domestic-related assaults with child endangerment
• 1 arrest for domestic-related criminal mischief
All individuals arrested have been processed and cases handed off to the next step in the criminal justice system. It is important to note that a criminal complaint is an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Haverstraw Police Department Arrest Woman For Prostitution and Unlicensed Massage Operation

On March 21, 2025, the Haverstraw Police Department, in cooperation with the New York State Police, carried out a joint operation at Solace Springs Spa, located at 242 N. Route 9W Unit F in Haverstraw, New York, after receiving allegations of prostitution at the establishment. The investigation led to the arrest of Zongying Zhang, 45, from Queens, New York. Zhang faces charges of Prostitution (a Class B Misdemeanor) and Unauthorized Practice of a Profession (a Class E Felony). It is claimed that Zhang solicited an undercover investigator for sexual services in exchange for payment and provided a massage without the required professional license under New York State law. As a result, the Village of Haverstraw Building Department revoked the spa’s Certificate of Occupancy, effectively closing the business. Zhang was released on an appearance ticket and is set to appear in the Village of Haverstraw Justice Court.
It is important to note that a criminal complaint is an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
