ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY – Rockland County had two people who grew up in the county play roles at yesterday’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas. CBS Reporter Tracy Wolfson, who grew up in Clarkstown and graduated from Clarkstown North High School was a sideline reporter and played a key role during the broadcast of the game.

Located in Orangetown, the Rockland GAA has become a popular destination for combat sports, and RFC Promotions is once again bringing elite-level talent to the local stage. The August 2 card will feature up-and-coming fighters as well as seasoned professionals, showcasing a variety of martial arts disciplines under one roof.

The event is part of a growing combat sports movement in Rockland County, thanks in part to RFC Promotions Founder and CEO Ridvan Vllasaliu, who is a European Kickboxing Champion and the force behind Rigorō Gym in Bardonia (Clarkstown, NY). Vllasaliu has helped elevate the local scene by introducing world-class training in kickboxing and mixed martial arts to Rockland County.

Spring Valley’s Tanyiah Joseph Sprints to 2nd Place at NY State Championship, Headed to Nationals

Spring Valley, NY — Spring Valley High School’s Tanyiah Joseph continues to make headlines after a standout performance at the New York State Championship Track & Field Meet this past weekend. Tanyiah raced to a 2nd place finish in the 100-meter dash, and also claimed 3rd place in the Federation section of the same event — proving she is one of the fastest high school sprinters in New York State.

With explosive speed and unwavering determination, Tanyiah’s performance electrified the crowd and highlighted her as a top contender on the track. Her dedication and hard work have now earned her a spot at Nationals in Philadelphia, where she will compete this Thursday against some of the best young athletes from across the country.

Spring Valley High School and the greater Rockland County community are rallying behind the rising star as she prepares for the national stage.
