Demarest Dam Rehabilitation Project Begins January 3, 2023

Effective Tuesday, January 3, 2023, the Demarest Kill County Park in New City will be closed for the duration of the Demarest Kill Dam Rehabilitation Project.

The Rockland County Drainage Agency is undertaking the $5.7-million project to bring the Zebrowski-Morahan Demarest Kill County Park Dam, which is over 75 years old, up to modern safety standards.

The entire park, including the parking lot, will be closed starting January 3rd and remain closed for an extended period with hopes the park might reopen during summer.
