Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Announce the Passing of K9 Holder, First Bloodhound Tracking Canine in Department History

ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY – In a post on social media, the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office announce the passing of K9 Holder, the first bloodhound tracking canine to serve in the Sheriff’s Department. Below is the statement released by the Sheriff’s Office.

“It is with a heavy heart that the Sheriff’s Office shares the news that retired K9 Holder has passed away. K9 Holder, our first bloodhound tracking canine served the Sheriff’s Office succesfully with enthusiasm and loyalty, as a partner to Sgt. Myers. K9 Holder was an exceptional tracking dog, and a friend to all, he will be missed. K9 Holder was named after NYPD Officer Randolph Holder killed in the line of duty in 2015. In his retirement he enjoyed his time with the Myers family. Our deepest condolences to Sgt. Myers, and his family. Rest in peace.”

Ramapo Police Officer Stops Reckless Moped Rider, Faces Multiple Violations

Frustrated by mopeds and e-bikes weaving through traffic like the rules don’t apply? You’re not alone.

This morning, a Ramapo officer observed a Honda ADV150 moped dangerously cutting off vehicles and weaving between lanes on Airmont Road near North DeBaun Avenue. The 25-year-old operator had no license plates and couldn’t provide proof of insurance. The vehicle was immediately towed, and multiple summonses were issued.

But tickets are just the beginning. True accountability happens in court. This case is now before the  Village of Airmont Justice Court.

CPD Report Serious Motor Vehicle Accident Involving Pedestrian Closes Southbound Route 304 in New City

Clarkstown Police Department is on scene at a serious motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Route 304 and Main Street in New City.
As a result, Route 304 southbound lanes are currently closed. The Clarkstown Police Accident Investigation Team is actively investigating.
The pedestrian sustained severe injuries and has been transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene.
Please avoid the area and use alternate routes.
